The 1st meet of the SPL CC season is NEXT SATURDAY, SEPTEMBER 2nd at Clifford Johnson School in Warrenville and is hosted by St. Irene and St. James the Apostle Schools.

This is the same location it has been for the last several years and all courses and details remain the same, except as noted below.

There is a new Obstacle Course at the far end of the starting field (across from the start line). This was under construction last year and did not alter the course or the course maps. However, the first turn will be narrower than in past years because the obstacle course will be roped off. Please be aware of this when you review the course in the morning with your teams. Please also TELL YOUR RUNNERS AND FAMILIES TO STAY OFF OF THE OBSTACLE COURSE DURING THE MEET as it is in the middle of all of the courses!
The tent set-up area is in the same location as past years – off the west end of the school parking lot and inside the finish loop of all courses.
As in past years, there is NOT ample parking at this meet. We will have volunteers on hand to help park cars to maximize the use of space in the school lot. The lot is not big enough to accommodate all spectators, so allow plenty of time to park and carpool if possible. Parking is also available on surrounding residential streets, BUT MOST RESIDENTIAL STREETS IN AND AROUND JOHNSON SCHOOL ALLOW PARKING ON ONE SIDE OF THE STREET ONLY. PLEASE TELL YOUR PARENTS TO BE AWARE OF POSTED PARKING REGULATIONS. THEY WILL BE TICKETED IF THEY PARK IN AN AREA OR ON A STREET WITH A POSTED “NO PARKING” SIGN.
NOTE THAT THERE IS ALSO PARKING ON THE WEST SIDE OF SUMMERLAKES PARK, ACCESSIBLE OFF OF BUTTERFIELD ROAD (WEST OF ROUTE 59) NEAR TWO BROTHERS TAP HOUSE. ATTACHED IS A MAP OF THE AREA WITH TEXT BUBBLES THAT SHOW PARKING AREAS.
AGAIN, PLEASE OBEY POSTED PARKING SIGNS!!
There portable toilets only at this site and no indoor washrooms or running water. Johnson School will be closed and inaccessible.
CONCESSIONS will be provided by St. JAMES.
This is a District 200 school property AND Park District-operated grounds. As at all meets, please remind your families to respect the property and stay off any non-playground equipment. We have had issues in past year with runners playing on equipment and we want to make sure that CHILDREN ARE SAFE and that EQUIPMENT IS NOT DAMAGED.
